All-inclusive caterers make life easy for busy couples If you're in the midst of wedding plans, chances are you've heard at least a few wedding horor stories from well-meaning friends or relatives.
Aunt Gertrude, on the day she went to pick up her dress, was reduced to tears when she looked in the window and saw nothing but dark emptiness. Grandmother Martha was stuck without flowers on her big day after the shop where she placed her order went out of business and they didnt bother to tell her. Second cousin Linda's brother's mother-in-law ... you get the picture.
Oh, have we heard stories' Many involve disreputable, fly-by-night operations and are enough to permantntly lodge a lump in your throat. With more and more caterer offering package deals where they take care of every detail imaginable, it's more important than ever to thoroughly check out each caterer your're considering. After all, you do not want your name tacked on to the begining of one ofnthose horror stories.
Mosh Chug, owner of Catering by Gregory's said " one-stop" catering companies are great for busy couples who have enough stress as it is and don't want to worry about all those minite details that make up a wedding day. Companies like Gregory's take care of everything from the flowers to the food to the limp.
is the company reputable? What have they done lately? Are they keeping up with current trends? These are important question to ask when considering a caterer, Chug said. "Talk to previous couples. Were they pleased with the service provided? Did it meet or exceed their cxpectations?" Chug also recommends trying the caterer's food and service prior to the wedding. "Ask if you try their food. If they're reluctant, stay clear of them. If ther're not confident with their food, why should you invest a large sum of money in them?"
It's also important to make sure the companies the cateres use are reputable. "The disadvantage of going with someone who covers it all is that if you find the caterers has gone under, you've got nothing." Chug said. He recommends checking the company's financial security with the Better Business Bureau.
Also, be sure that the price you settle on with the caterer includes all taxes and gratuties - or you may be in for a big surprise, paying mor than you origainally thoughty,.
All-inclusinve package by Catering by Gregory's all couples to choose from a number of halls, or if the couple has found on on its own that will allow an outside caterer, that's fine, too.Chug said it's important to have a b udget and to stick to it. as hard as tht may be. Packages can be very pricey, but he said Caterign by Gregorys's also has "casual packages that start just $9 or $10 per person. Couples choosing therse packages do much of the wourk themselves or delegate it to family and friends."There's no such thing as spending too little or too much. We try to put together a package that fits with the budget. Other than a house, a couples's most expensive venture is their wedding day. "Chug said. :We want to make sure their dreams can be attained, whatever their budget is".
